Welcome Membership

Welcome to the Wine Communicators of Australia inc.

The WPC is undergoing a name change - we're now officially "Wine Communicators of Australia" (WCA) - the Independent Association of Wine Professionals. We're in the process of developing a new logo and website so for a few weeks we'll display something of a split personality in that this site will largely continue to refer to us by our old name and logo. Please bear with us as we transition to WCA. In the meantime, new member application forms for the new WCA are posted on the Membership page.

Who We Are

The Wine Press Club of New South Wales is Australia’s principal communication forum for the wine industry. We are an independent association of professionals who have expertise in diverse wine related areas such as; the media, wine production, education, marketing, public relations, sales and related industries.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support wine excellence, professionalism and innovation through the sharing of information and the exchange of ideas. In particular we support the continued improvement of the quality of Australia’s wine media.

What We Do

Provide regular events in a convivial atmosphere that have a focus on keeping members informed of the latest developments and trends in the wine industry without fear or favour. These include:

  • Hosting visiting speakers
  • Seminars
  • Lectures
  • Workshops
  • Networking functions

We utilise surplus funds to provide financial support back to the industry via a range of projects including:

  • Annual grant for the Masters of Wine Lecture
  • Biannual Wine Press Club Fellowship Award to assist research and development works in the industry
  • The Annual Wine Press Club Lecture - Jeffrey Grosset in 2003, Brian Croser AO in 2004 and James Halliday in 2005.
  • The Wine Press Club of NSW Trophy at the RAS of NSW Sydney Royal Wine Show and the NSW Wine Awards.
